World In Transition Teacher Training Workshop
Nationally recognized World Affairs Councils of America Flagship Program where teachers receive training, CEUs, and supplemental multimedia teaching materials ($750 value) on current issues on eight world regions.* Appropriate for high school teachers of Modern World History, Economics, Art History, intervention & skill development, second-language and gifted programs.
Date: Friday, April 13, 2007 (8 am to 4 pm) & Saturday, April 14 (8 am to 3 pm)
Place: Summit Country Day School - 2161 Grandin Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45208
Participants: 20 schools maximum (a second person from the same school is welcome to attend and share materials up to a maximum of 30 participants)

Teachers will
- participate in an experiential workshop where they will delve into the materials, create teaching scenarios and collaborate with the other participants,
- receive a comprehensive multimedia teaching package tied to State curriculum standards and testing for their school—all free of charge,
- receive a certificate upon completion that can be submitted to request CEUs,
- receive follow-up support through a website where the teaching content will be continually updated, and
- have the possibility of becoming a paid “World in Transition” Teacher Trainer.
*The eight units: Latin America, South Asia, East Asia, Europe, Middle East, Russian and Other Former Soviet Republics, Africa and The End of the Soviet Union. Units being developed: North America, Global Issues.
